Google announced on Google+, all the AdWords conversion settings are now available for the goals and transactions that you import from Google Analytics into AdWords. You can apply Flexible conversion counting, Customized conversion window and Editable conversion values to the goals and transactions imported from Google Analytics.
Although Google Analytics and AdWords may show the conversions in slightly different ways, the update is not going to affect how your numbers are reported in Google Analytics. According to Google, the update will benefit marketers in the following ways:
- Set up Conversion Windows for Your Marketing Objectives: For all the imported goals and transactions, you can customize the conversion windows from 7 to 90 days. You can select 90 days conversion window for purchases which may take longer time and 10 day window for quicker purchases. The default conversion window is of 30 days.
- Count Conversions According to Your Business Needs: With Flexible conversion counting you can count conversions depending on the needs of your business. Advertisers can choose to count either all the conversions that take place after a click or just unique conversions.
- Set Conversion Values Depending on Your Objectives: The update allows advertisers to specify different conversion values to the goals and transactions imported to AdWords, without changing those values in Analytics.
You can edit the conversion settings on goals and transactions in the Conversions section on the Tools tab in AdWords. Check out more details on the new update in the Google Help Center.New AdWords Conversion Settings Now Available for Goals and Transactions Imported from Google Analytics!,
