Andrew Braccia, VP of Yahoo Search, resigned to join Accel Partners, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm. He already features in the company's team page.
For six years, Braccia reported to Jeff Weiner directly and was crucial in creating Yahoo Answers and acquiring Del.icio.us and Flickr while integrating Inktomi, Overture, Alta Vista, and FAST. All his experience and knowledge with operations, finances and business planning for multiple Yahoo! businesses, including Yahoo! Search, Yahoo! Shopping, Yahoo! Travel, Yahoo! Autos and Yahoo! Local will help him at Accel. At Accel, Braccia will continue working in software sectors especially on search, digital media & online advertising while identifying investment opportunities in the consumer Internet sector. Some of the companies already a part of Accel's kitty include BitTorrent, Double Fusion, AdMob, Facebook, Brightcove, Glam Media, Metacafe, Prosper and Medio.

A California native, Braccia graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Search Engine Land reports Vish Makhijani will fill in Andrew Braccia's shoes.
