"You can now use an animated GIF as your profile photo", the announcement has been made by Google on Google+ twice.

So, what does this mean?

Google has already clarified that authorship headshot should have some quality because it takes Google+ profile pictures as authorship photos in many cases. 

The question here is; Will an animated GIF profile photo work for authorship in Google’s search results snippets?

If yes, will Google be showing only one frame or the entire animation in search results?

We thinks that Google will not use the animated GIF as authorship thumbnails. What do you guys think about it?
