AOL has launched a new service known as ' AOL Search with FullView '. This search interface will automatically integrate local, multimedia, news and other kinds of content with Google-powered web search results. This service can be used by AOL Search, MapQuest, AOL.com and clients of AOL. FullView will help searchers in finding more information concerning to their searches. Searches will have images, videos, local results and other specific information.
Dariusz Pacsuzki, Vice President of Marketing for AOL Search said about new service “We wanted to address some of the frustrations we found both in search in general as well as in our own product.” FullView will show result in specific and categorized modules. Results will be in form of photos, videos, audios, new results. Every module will have a ' click to expand' link which will show more results. You will also have the option of viewing results of a particular category like audio or photo. Modules can also change according to your search subject. Types of modules shown relating to wide variety of queries are determined by 'recipes'. AOL is observing the effectiveness of every recipe. Pacsuzki in an article 'AOL Enhances Search with FullView Results' by Chris Sherman, said that goal of AOL is to discover “ ways for AOL to credibly differentiate itself in search”.
