For two years, there was no way to personally add or edit Apple Maps listing. Apple has recently notified us of a new service portal that is intended to let business owners and their authorized reps to rapidly and effectively add content into Apple Maps. Users can now add their business to Apple Maps in case it is not there and claim or edit listings there if needed. This can be done for free through Apple Maps Connect.
This is a free service and listings or corrected listings come on to Apple Maps on the PC as well as the mobile. Users need to sign in with their Apple ID and passwords. Verification is also in real time and users can get an automated call with the code which is included in the Maps Connect site. The businesses can check this later on using an email address which is identical to the website URL.
Updates as well as new listings can be displayed within a week and viewed more quickly depending upon whether the listing was flagged or more identification and verification is needed. Fraud prevention measures are also in place and Apple is now going to get feedback as people use this system.

Users are advised to go ahead and opt for this new system from Apple, for it will increase in importance over the passage of time. It may soon be at par with Google Places.
