After rolling out the snippets for List Pages, Google has come up with application rich snippets, which will help users searching for various applications to evaluate the search result relevance in a better way.

cut the rope

There is no doubt that the snippets will make search results to be very indicative. The search result will contain a thumbnail image of the application, along with application rating (presented by stars), number of people who have rated it, the price of the application, and the latest review on it. In a nutshell, one can get a glimpse of some key information by just having a glance at the search result, without even requiring to open it. Very convenient indeed.

And yes, it is not that the snippet can help to indicate only one particular property of an application. Rather it can be used to indicate each and every property. The objective is to give as much idea as possible to the user at the very first glance.

With a search for any type of application (security application, computer games application or whatever) coming up with a huge volume of search results, it always becomes difficult for an user to narrow down his search on the ones from among which he has to make his final choice. It seems now it will be much easier for him.
