Dr. Arthur Levinson, a member of the Google's Board of Directors resigned from his post on 12 October, 2009. He has been in the Google Board since April 2004.

The CEO and Chairman of Google, Eric Schmidt described Levinson as a valued colleague and a good friend. He said that Arthur has played a key role in the success of Google in the past five years by offering vital advice on big opportunities and issues Google came across.
