Bing Ads has introduced a new powerful tool, Campaign Planner to help search marketers in understanding their competitive landscape, fine tuning their campaigns and getting new keyword ideas.

Campaign Planner displays marketplace insights by product, vertical and keyword. It collects as well as surfaces data from the Yahoo Bing Network to reveal new investment opportunities and industry benchmarks.

Campaign Planner provides marketplace metrics including search volume, Average CPC (cost-per-click), search distribution by device and more through an intuitive, top-down taxonomy. Marketers can use the navigation panel situated on the left to choose the industry vertical they are interested in for exploring vertical insights.

They can choose a product within each vertical for further investigation. For example, they can click “Women Jackets & Coats”to get product insights, including CPC and search volume trends.

The competition tab is similar to Auction Insights in AdWords, with a few differences. Marketers can see the top 10 advertisers and their performance in the product “Women Jackets & Coats.”They can review the names of competitors, their average position as as well as their ad coverage to identify the ads getting the most air time as well as where on the page are they the strongest. The competition tab is available only at the product category level.

Campaign Planner makes it easy to find keyword opportunities for a business. Marketers can download all the keywords in the associated category and use them to create their ad campaign within each Product Insights page, under the Keywords tab

Campaign planner provides key performance indicators at the keyword level which includes search distribution by device, search volume, clicks, Avg. CTR, weekly change and Average CPC.

Marketers can also click on the individual keyword to get further information. They can also get various performance metrics, search trends and competition data under the Keyword Insights.

Bing Ads has also made it easier for marketers to track the changing marketplace dynamic for their business by adding the products they are interested in following to their library of My Favorite Products.
