Bing re-launches the Bing Business Portal with a new name, "Bing Places for Business". The change will not do much with listings, other than moving the location of where you managed your business Bing Maps listing to bing.com/places.

Some of the features that were available in the Bing Business Portal have also been removed. These include:

  • Ability to create deals
  • Features to add coupons
  • Print QR codes
  • Create your own mobile sites
  • Ability to create and print collateral

Bing team said that it is their first step towards providing users with all the tools that are required to easily and quickly find local customers online.

The data will be migrated from Bing Business Portal to the new Bing Places for Business over the next few days. If you have verified listings, it will continue to display on Bing. All the changes made prior to 22 April on Bing Business Portal have now become a part of the Bing Places for Business. Rest of the changes are expected to be reflected on the new platform by 29 April, 2013.
