Google’s local search features have now reached Bing, the latter said during an announcement made by it recently. Users who now search for local businesses on Bing, critical information such as hours the shop or establishment operates, its telephone number, location and address as well as directions can be accessed right at the start of the search results page.
For instance, the following screen will appear for any search query in Bing for businesses now:
If users know the address, and they need directions, all they have to do is type “Directions to…” and the address and the following screen will appear:
You will get the shortest route as judged by travel time on your screen for a particular business. All you have to do is say “Travel time to” and type in the location. You can even find the hours of operation of a restaurant or business establishment.
This recent feature is being called as “Fact Answers” by Bing and it is available as of now. This search feature is not there for every device though. So far, the directions feature can only be accessed in the UK, the US and France. Reviews and address answers are available via the PC desktop only. There is no current time schedule as to when this feature will be released for mobile users. If Bing wants to outrank Google, mobile should definitely be on the top of their agenda.Bing Local Search Becomes More User Friendly With Google Type Quick Responses!,
