Microsoft's Bing has entered into a partnership with Yelp, after which the local search results will include Yelp's reviews. Yelp has been quoted on the deal as- “Yelp will surface content including, review snippets, photos, business attributes, and more, to Bing users in the U.S.”
Search experts are of the view that this collaboration between Bing and Yelp is to relieve the pressure built on Bing after Google acquired Zagat.
In the new local results page, people using Bing in US will see experts from Yelp reviews in their search. The content is in an snippet column located to the right of the main search results. Below is a screenshot, containing reviews, a map and a link to interior images of the restaurant.
Bing will allow users to scan reviews at a glance or dive into rich content such as photos and restaurant reviews from one of the web’s leading local listing services.Yelp offers fresher and more reliable reviews for users to do more in their local area.
