As part of their effort in “delivering a more intuitive and visual image search experience” to its users, Bing introduces a brand new landing page for image search. The new page indeed appears attractively intuitive with features like filter by size, layout, color, style and so on. Another feature is the highlight of the most popular image searches of the day.
Commenting on the popular image searches highlight feature, the blog post said, “The landing page assembles the top images in full fidelity so you can get a quick snap-shot of some of the most popular image searches on Bing.
Once you click through to the “images” page you will notice that we’ve populated the tabs with the most common search queries associated with a given image. With one simple click, you can narrow down the images to find just what you’re looking for or be inspired to discover more.”
However, the new features seem to attract a mixed response from some of its users. To the last line of the blog – “Let us know what you think.,” some users have commented in appreciation of the landing page and other improvements but at the same time are not happy with the removal of some old features. Features like 'similar image search', 'find similar image', 'search more sizes of the selected image', 'using right click for more info or open it in a new tab' etc., absent on the new landing page are some of the factors of discontent amongst the users who has given their feedback.
