As a company that is always striving to improve the user experience, hats off to Yahoo! for its latest endeavor. Within a few weeks' time, available will be a new feature called Blocked Domains.

Since sponsored search and contextual ads can appear outside of the Yahoo! network on the sites of its distribution partners, the Blocked Domains feature will let advertisers specify the websites and/or pages they don't want their ads to appear on – ones owned by publishers in Yahoo's distribution network. Advertisers will be able to block up to 250 domains per account, including an entire domain, a subdomain or a directory in a particular domain.

As per a Yahoo! Search marketing blog Blocked domains is not the only feature in the pipeline. Others include:

Discounts: You may automatically receive pricing discounts based on our assessment of the quality of traffic coming from our partner distribution network.

Click protection: We have installed a system to track and identify clicks that we believe shouldn’t be billed to our advertisers.

Intercontinental traffic control: "Blocked Continents," a recent enhancement, automatically excludes traffic from continents other than North America. If intercontinental traffic is important to your business, however, you can easily change this setting by going into your Administration tab and clicking "Account General Information."
