AOL announced its their findings on the most popular searches in 2011. Casey Anthony Trial topped the list, followed by Gabriel Giffords Shooting and Royal wedding, at 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

While Casey Anthony's trail was searched extensively in the US and Canada, the English showed more interest in London Riots and the phone hacking scandal.
