A recent post at Google AdSense Blog lets us know that Google is going to make changes to the AdSense's contextual targeting algorithms in order to make ads on a website more relevant to its webpages. 

"This week, we’ll be rolling out a series of enhancements to AdSense's contextual targeting capabilities, which will more accurately match relevant ads to webpages,” said Woojin Kim, Google AdSense Product Manager.

After introducing 'Standard AdSense font family' back in February, Google AdSense is updating font styles for its ad units once again of late. Reportedly, AdSense is changing the default font used in the different ad units and it's done on the basis of which ad font performs best in a particular ad unit.

Here are the new defaults:

Arial: 728×90, 336×280, 120×600, 120×240

This time it is changing the size of the fonts of the text in AdSense ad units. You have an option to choose from three font sizes – small, medium and large.

It has announced the implementation of image addition at the bottom of the link unit page. Link unit are substitute links showcasing textual advertisement topics relevant to the content on the site. Google AdSense for Feeds recently announced that its ads will now run using the googleads.g.doubleclick.net clickthough URL, instead of the previous pageads.googlesyndication.com.

AdSense made this switch last month:

This change in the URL where the ads are served from is due to the DoubleClick ad serving cookie that we launched on the Google content network last year. Since this cookie is on the doubleclick.net domain, we’ve had to update our URLs to point to doubleclick.net, as well as to give you the associated benefits such as frequency capping and improved attribution.

Google recently announced the integration of Publishers Center with Google Ad Planner – Google Ad Planner Publisher Center. This new feature will help AdSense publishers to increase their site's visibility and attract potential advertisers.

AdSense publishers also have the option to integrate their site's Google Analytics to Google Ad Planner Publisher Center.
