Instead of garnering appreciation, Google's 'Search within Search' feature came under intense criticism since the day of its launch.

According to a New York Times report, some retailers and publishers were especially not too enthusiastic about this feature because of the growing concern, that Google's SERP (Search engine result page) display PPC (pay-per click) advertisements from rival companies. Insinuating, that while it might be beneficial for a person using Google for a comprehensive search, the host site would be losing traffic due to the additional search box embedded in the Google search page.

Apparently, some Google AdWords customers are being opted into a beta named "Automatic Matching," as Dan Thies observed. The Automatic Matching programs swing into action if Google sees that you have not used all of your maximum budget for the month or the day. Consequently, Google would take that extra money by automatically matching your ads for keywords that you didn't specify in your keyword match list.

Just as Google AdWords and Analytics customers reported that they had got a reminder e-mail from Google Analytics, that requested them to reestablish a link between their Analytics account and AdWords account, it confused some. Many thought that it was a spam e-mail.

The paraphrased e-mail reads:

"Google understands your AdWords account has not been properly linked with your Google Analytics account. Without this, we cannot ensure that your AdWords data will continue to populate in your Analytics account."
