Click fraud has been an ever lingering issue with the advertisers. Finally, Google's Click Quality team has got down to address the issue more seriously. In an elaborate post, Meet the click quality team, not only the team comes to the fore but also talks about the process of protection, such as the automated filters.

Google has introduced new pricing structures for both AdSense and AdWords. As per Adsense, you could previously earn $100 when your referred publisher earned his first $100 within 180 days. The new system on the other hand rewards $5 when your referred publisher earned only $5 in 180 days. However, the second tier earning is a cool $250. You get this commission when the referred publisher earns $100.
It appears like Google has been testing a feature on some of the advertisers. The feature seems to be an elaborate budget analysis. It appears in the edit campaign section in the budget setting section.
Google AdWords informs:
Kevin Gibbons reports that the Google AdWords Qualified Professional logo has been malfunctioning since the beginning of this week. The logo is used by companies or individuals as a certification of their having met the requirements to be an AdWords Professional. By clicking on the logo, you can view the AdWords page which verified the authenticity of the claim.
Google AdWords blog has announced the launch of the AdWords editor.
We're excited to announce that AdWords Editor is now available for Mac users. Just like the Windows version, AdWords Editor for Mac allows you to navigate your AdWords account quickly and easily as well as make bulk changes to keywords and ad text. Mac users running OS X (10.4 or later) can download the application from the AdWords Editor website. For a full list of features, check out the release notes section of the website.
Since 15th December, 2006 there were reports coming from WebmasterWorld members that some bug in Google AdWords is leading to sorting of ad group by clicks and not alphabetically. The members at a Webmaster World Forums thread have said that Google has fixed the problem. One of the members has commented:
FIXED! Well at least it is now working for me how it used to. Hopefully everyone else has this standard functionality back as well.
Recently a thread started at Threadwatch points out that Google Adwords Research Tools Aids the Competition.
“Jeff Staub comments on Google's disturbing use of free keyword tools in determining ads to show in Google results. Essentially, by using their associative tools to research an untapped niche, you tip off Google to fill that niche with related ads, driving up bid prices in previously profitable markets.”
Google has filed a new patent which indicates that Google might include relevancy factors in its contextual ad algorithms. Bill Slawski reports that:
The process described in the filing involves accepting ads that are relevant to a document, and then scoring each of the accepted ads by using a price parameter associated with the ads, an indication of relevancy of the ads to the document, and a performance parameter.
This is what a discussion at WebmasterWorld Forums seems to be indicating. One of the members commented that:
I pause my ads for a fortnight over Xmas each year and strangely as soon as they are turned on again the number of conversions I get jumps up to above the pre-pause figures for about a week and then settles down again. If anything in the past three years then pausing the ads has done me nothing but good.
However, there were other members who think that it might negatively affect your ads "history", like CTR. As in if you are showing along the top when you decide to quit, it might take longer to get back up there when you resume. So others say that it might result in rise of cost per click prices and average positioning of the ads.
According to a discussion at Search Engine Watch Forums, Google's quality score plays an important role in ad delivery. A member has posted a response from Google which he got after seeing uneven delivery of ads when the Google’s Ad Optimizer was turned off.
