Google has announced that it has rolled in a ‘cleaner’ and clutter free design on the search results page. This move has been taken up to “create a consistent search experience across the wide variety of devices and screen sizes people use today”. The new clutter free search results were first rolled out for tablets then phones and now desktops. The new page allows the user to focus on the answers they want in a better manner:

Google has announced that in their effort to provide advertisers with more conversions at a lesser cost, they are changing the default ad rotation settings for most advertisers from “optimize for clicks” to "optimize for conversions."  This means your campaigns will be changed automatically by Google to the conversions based mode.  You can expect this roll out to take place in the second week of November.

This is big news. The much trusted-visited and referred to forums- Webmaster World have been bought by Internet Marketing Ninjas led by Jim Boykin. This was announced by Today at Pubcon, by previous owner of Webmaster World – Brett Tabke and Jim Boykin. Brett said that handing over Webmaster World will give him more time to focus on PubCon series. Jim revealed that he has many plans in place to introduce social and community features in the Forums.

The Internet’s revenue channels are firmly in hands of the search industry as the first half of 2012 report by Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PwC US reveals. The report says that in the first half of 2012, the internet ad revenues have continued to rise to a huge $17 Billion and of this amount nearly half of it: $8.1 Billion comes from spending on search industry. Last year, in 2011m, the revenue earned was 19% lesser than the $17 billion and had 46% of the search market.

Google has always stressed on the importance it places on rich snippets while placing a site’s page on its search results. The search engine has illustrated time and again that rich snippets that summarize the content of a page by using structured data markup have a much better shot at being placed high in search results. Moving in the same direction, Google has launched a new set of guidelines that will allow webmaster to create a structured data markup for rich snippets.
