The spoiler to this great story is that you may already know it.

If you are reading straight from our blog, you must have noticed the new website. ItÂ’s only been a few hours and we have got compliments from around the world. Quite a relief when it comes after more than a year of mind racking, hair splitting, sanity threatening efforts.

The idea of launching a new site came almost two years back. However, due to pressing campaigns. It was 358 days back that we got down to work on conceptualizing for a new site. Soon, we realized the
enormity of the task at hand. There were quite a few new things we wanted to try and a couple of new services to launch.

Most importantly, we wanted the new site to be more engaging, more open and more forthcoming than any other site we had seen. We wanted people to be able to see inside the company and be a part of it. The
idea was to interact at multiple levels. While the idea is simple, it took some time, a very long time to be honest, to reach at something we felt good about.

The home page was the toughest, which took us 17 revisions to arrive at what is now online. The internal sections, such as Career, Company,
Help & FAQ
demanded significant though and work. Teams from USA, U.K. and India were involved during various stages of the design process.

Moreover, social media has become a natural extension of SEO when it comes to internet marketing these days. We have been handling the SMO accounts of many clients for over a year now. So, we decided it

In almost all of our campaigns, we have recommended code or structural changes to remove the bottlenecks for search engine crawlers. Numerous clients suggested that if we know so much about we

PageTraffic Ranked No.2. All Apologies!

Hello Readers,

PageTraffic would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family Happy Holidays and all the best for the New Year. It was Christmas and the New Year is knocking on the door. At PageTraffic the preparations for the celebrations were in full swing and all of us were getting ready for the party and the festivities.

We'd just like to share with you that Santa dropped by PageTraffic yesterday. It was quite dramatic when in the evening as we were celebrating all the lights went out and Santa's visit was indicated by some rocking Christmas music.

The lights then came on as Santa visited each department. The PageTraffic SEO department was the first where Santa landed first.

We got ourselves a new name! We have moved the Unofficial SEO blog to PageTraffic Blog. This decision comes in the wake of the following considerations:

1. Name of The Blog Vs Content of The Blog

For almost 2 years Unofficial SEO Blog dealt with a variety of issues, such as Analytics, Link Building, PPC, Usability etc, some of which lay beyond the scope of "Search Engine Optimization." Consequently, the title "Unofficial SEO blog" and the content were not in sync with each other. The PageTraffic Blog would focus more on how to get more visitors on your site from search engines, social media, link building (related news, views, tips, tricks, advice, etc.)

2. A Business Decision

This move has also been a business decision, as a step towards uniform branding. Since we already own PageTraffic.com so why not have a related blog and hence pagetrafficbuzz.com

How we executed the move?

Some of the readers might be interested to know how we made the move and the precautions we took from Search Engines' point of view so as not to lose the rankings and subscribers.

Here is a rundown on what all we did:

1. Moved whole of MYSQL database and files from www.unofficialseoblog.com to www.pagetrafficbuzz.com
2. 301 in header so that each of the older post (url) redirects to corresponding new url. Try searching in Google for “google mobile software” right now Unofficial SEO Blog url is ranked No.2. Click on it and you will understand how it's working
3. Checked header status at http://www.seoconsultants.com/tools/headers/ so as to see if the correct response code is being returned.
4. Manually searched and clicked listing of the Unofficialseoblog.com (few random pages) in Google, to reconfirm the redirection.
5. Updated Blog URL in feedburner, while keeping the feed url same as earlier i.e. http://feeds.feedburner.com/UnofficialSeoBlog
6. Updated the URL at Google Analytics
7. Submitted and verified sitemap in Google Webmaster Tools
8. Updated the URL at Mybloglog
9. Made a record of indexed pages and backlinks in all three search engines (Google, MSN, Yahoo!) for both sites (www.pagetrafficbuzz.com and www.unofficialseoblog.com)

Unofficial SEO Blog Renamed as PageTraffic Blog!

Finally Web 2.0 bug has bitten us and we bought ourselves a new design! This design segregates our news section separately with featured post as a highlighting feature. With this new design, we will be able to offer more to our readers in terms of industry news, reviews, insights, tips, tricks  and useful tools.

Note: Please clear your cache or Press Ctrl F5 to reload the blog and see all changes.

You will see many of the older elements being dropped and sections segregated to make distinction between main sections. Here is the summary of what all have changed with this new design:

New Unofficial SEO Blog Design!

We people had a great day out yesterday. We all went for the movie Salaam Namaste. Everybody was too excited as we got into the mini bus. The scene reminded me of the school days! Remember, the way we were enthusiastic about those school picnics….I felt the same excitement around. Away from worries about meeting the deadlines and other pressures, we almost forgot we are no longer school kids! And then something more to set the picnic mood. We started singing songs, all from the movie and in no time we reached the theater. Guess what I realized after about half an hour of the movie?? That nobody was seeing the movie!! Yes… some were busy giving their valuable comments for the movie. I heard somebody heartily appreciating Priety Zinta’s wardrobe for the movie. Mike was either too busy to watch the movie or he loves his cell phone games more than Zinta. I saw him engrossed playing game on his cell phone. And me…….I was discussing with Caren how cute Saif Ali was looking in the movie!

The movie ended and we all headed to a restaurant to binge. Obviously, discussions on the movie had to follow. Expert reviews came out from each one of us. Though some of us did not agree on the subject of the movie (that is on live-in relationships) but all of us did agree on one thing that it was a superb day and a nice break from the daily routine.

Regarding these new SERPs, there is a mixed response amongst the members. Some users are noticing better content, less supplemental results and scraped sites. Hoever, there are some users whose sites are dropped out of the index, due to new scraper
