Search Engine Land has reported about fun valentine cards that you can send to your favorite SEO or SEM. The cards are available at Internet Traffic Solutions. The cards bear messages as "I love you more than links from Google itself," and "Roses are red, violets are blue, link bait is fun and so are you." However, my favorite is the comment to the post itself, which said "Rose are red and violets are blue your spamming of Digg sucks and so do you."

Can the anchor test used to link to your content negatively affect the rankings of it? Previously, we thought it can either affect positively or none at all. But Aaron Wall says that Google scrapes search results to see which content has exactly same anchor text, implying that the links are not natural.
A query posted on WebmasterWorld thread inquires about the way to preserve PageRank value one has on the pages without spreading it out too much.
The query is:
I have around 60 links to my other pages from my home page. Is that too much, will that cause my PR to leak? Also I need to ask you what about linking to other sites from home page, will that cause the PR to leak?

Aaron Wall has posted an article on Seobook regarding optimization of content.
According to Aaron there are many aspects that needs consideration while writing content for any webpage. The content need to be optimized well in order to get a good ranking but ultimately it is the reader who will read your content and not the search engine. Moreover, the content need to be written in a manner that is easily consumable. It is not important to follow the same content trend in all the pages, variation might just be more attractive. Remove as many useless words as you can.
Matt Cutts had some time ago said that Google is doing data pushes every day which is resulting in changing of ranks. But some people have asked for more information that influences the ranks. Matt Cutts have reviewed some sites and talks about why the sites loose their ranks and what should be done to get good ranks.
Randfish at SEOmoz has posted an interesting article on how to come up with best possible title tags.
Randfish advises to use the title of the site or brand either in the beginning or during the end of the tag to help the searchers locate where they are heading. The length should not exceed 65 to 70 characters, which should be inclusive of spaces.
All of us have been indefinitely testing on our websites to increase the conversion rates. Should the background be white or colorful, should the image be a happy face or the company logo – numerous decisions need to be made during these tests. This is where confusion crops. Which test had how much impact has to be measured and tests should not be repeated just because you can't remember which ones are actually done.
All the search engine giants have test sites to test their new features before introducing them to their main search engines. Google's test site SearchMash is loaded with features, such as video, images, blogs and text results all at the same time. That is it scores over other similar test beds.
