In September Yahoo! declared through it's “On Target” advertisers newsletter about the forthcoming ad testing and the quality index features for their ad platform. However, the descriptions of the features sounded familiar to those of  Google features. According to their information, ad testing feature will enable you to run multiple ads against all the keywords in your “ad group”. The complete description seems to be a blue print of Google's approach. But considering the on-going craze for AdWords, even the familiar features will be welcomed with open arms.

Yahoo! plans on expanding its search marketing offerings in India. A thread created at Digital forums reports it saying "Yahoo! Search Marketing will be expanding its global presence with an offering in India soon! With Sponsored Search you can connect with customers who are searching online for what you sell. Enter keywords that describe your business and your ad can appear when users in India enter relevant queries." Though the offer will attract customers by direct sponsord ads instead of looking for them and control the cost, it will lack geo-targeting.

Yahoo! and HP have come together in a deal  to distribute the Yahoo! Toolbar on millions of HP computers. 
"The deal gives HP computer users instant access to Yahoo search, e-mail, news and finance links.

OvertureRep has confirmed the recently reported bug in the Yahoo! Publisher Network reporting engine. WebmasterWorld has several posts stating that publishers are noting very low impressions as compared to other days.

Overture Rep (YahooSarah) said- "Thanks for reporting your findings here. Today, we found an error in our YPN portal that caused inaccurate reporting of Ad Unit Impressions, CTR, CPM and Average RPC data for some of our publishers.

Yahoo! announced that it is seeing a slowdown in advertising spend in its two biggest advertising segments. The news led to 13 % drop in share prices.

Chief Financial Officer Susan Decker told investors at a Goldman Sachs media conference that Yahoo has seen "a little bit of weakness in the last few weeks" in auto and financial services advertising. "It's a new trend. It's been two to three weeks and we don't know yet if it's an indicator of a broader slowdown," Decker later told reporters at the conference.
