Yahoo! Search integrated Flickr Images into their search results. Yahoo! Search blog announced it today. Now you can  access funy photos or travel photography of Flickr.com. Your search for any striking photo on anything would end up with the images of Flickr. Flickr- one of  the best online photo management and sharing application in the world- continues to entertain people with photos of various kinds. Flickr has made it to show off your favorite photo as you put your query. Yahoo! being a popular site  will now make Flickr's presence felt everywhere although the integration highlights Yahoo!'s poor photo pool.

Yahoo! is believed to have changed its algorithm. The new search index has upset many. Threads at WebmasterWorld and DigitalPoint Forums report people's grievances and problems with Yahoo!'s new search index. However, there are also some who are happy with the change. According to a Yahoo! spokesperson, Yahoo! is " trying to connect with you more directly  and enrich our interaction even further through Site Explorer."

Yahoo! launched a new tool called Yahoo! Search Builder. Tim Mayer of Yahoo! announced it during the Social Search Overview session. With the new Yahoo! Search Builder, you can create a custom Web search engine. The process enables selecting  a set of trusted sites to search the web or you can put the search algorithm to the topic of your choice. Besides, Search Builder also include Site search and News search. The look and feel of the search box and SERPs are also under your control.

Fortune Interactive conducted a by its SEMLogic Technology to determine metrics which were most crucial to the web pages organically ranked on the first page of search results. The key phrase was “laptop” and the search engines Google, Yahoo and MSN.

According to Mike Marshall, Fortune Interactive vice president of technology, “Our research found the range of optimal values for a key metric varies across search engines and the importance of a metric varies even down to the key phrase level.”

Yahoo! is testing out redirecting some of those who conduct a link command or site command search at search.yahoo.com to the Yahoo! Site Explorer tool. Barry Schwartz reports,

I use Yahoo! pretty much exclusively for checking link info. i've always found search.yahoo.com to deliver more accurate data than Site Explorer.
today, an interesting thing happened. i went to search.yahoo.com to run some queries, and site:, link:, and linkdomain: operators all re-directed me to Site Explorer. here was the message:
