Previously, Google cache stored only up to 100 KB of a page. However, reports at WebmasterWorld suggest that this has now been modified. Have a look at the cache pages of various sites and you will notice that Google is downloading and archiving more than 100 KB of a page.

There are reports where Google is now caching pages that are even more than 400 KB.
