Reports have surfaced that MSN may be eying Manhattan based online advertising firm DoubleClick which is worth about $2 billion.

New York Business reports:
The acquisition of DoubleClick, which boasts 1,500 clients worldwide, would enable Microsoft to make a big stride in the online advertising market. Last year, Microsoft acquired Manhattan-based startup Massive Inc. for about $400 million to enter the video game advertising business.

DoubleClick, which hired investment bank Morgan Stanley to work on a possible sale, according to The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the story on Wednesday. DoubleClick has been selling off noncore assets and preparing to cash out since it was taken private in 2005, analysts said.
