Facebook has announced that it has 25 million active small business (SMB) pages. The number was shared at the Dreamforce conference in San Francisco. In the third-quarter earnings announcement, Facebook revealed to have 20 million SMBs on the site.
The gain of 5 million is the result of change in the definition of SMB pages and broadening of an array of business types. Facebook has included e-commerce businesses and mobile developers who are not local in the category of SMBs. All these are business Pages and posting content on their analytics dashboard at lease once every month. All these accounts are actively managed.
The challenge before Facebook is to help its active SMB users migrate to advertiser column. It has been so far coming up with tactics such as in-person seminars & "do-it-for-me" set-up assistance to start Facebook advertising.
Facebook has said that it roughly has one million advertisers and a substantial number amongst them fall into SMBs category. So, there's a huge opportunity before Facebook to increase its advertisers numbers.Facebook has 25 Million Active Small Business Pages!,
