Facebook has announced that it has acquired the design team design agency, Hot Studio. This agency is based out of San Francisco and New York. The task of this newly acquired team is to build new tools for businesses on the social networks.
Margaret Stewart, a director of design at Facebook explains the purpose of the acquisition in a note on Facebook that, “These are design and development problems at a global scale, and tackling them requires a tremendous talent for solving complex problems through simple, intuitive design. Finding designers who understand these issues and who fit into our entrepreneurial, fast-moving culture has always been a particular challenge.”
Maria Giudice and Rajan Dev from Hot Studio have also shared their views on this acquisition. “Several months ago, we began a great working relationship with the Facebook team. During that time, we’ve noticed unique synergies between the two companies in their commitment to foster a robust, collaborative, creative culture, and a relentless desire to create excellent and meaningful experiences for people all around the world.”
Hot Studio informs that it will finish all client work in the coming few months before it closes down and joins Facebook. Hot Studio employees will be a part of Facebook’s product design, communication design, research, engineering and content strategy teams.Facebook Acquires Design Team Of Hot Studio!,
