Facebook is launching a series of posts aimed at assisting SMBs that are new players in the game. The series will help them get started on Facebook. The first edition, launched on 25th of this month, explained the basics of Facebook advertising and ad targeting.

Facebook says, more than 1.2 billion people use Facebook and more than 30 million businesses have active Pages. As such, your ads should be designed in such a way that they help your business reach the target audience with the right message.

Adding further, Facebook said advertisers can choose the audiences for their ads based on the tools it offers. These tools help advertisers reach people based on the traits and categories of the users like:

  • Their location
  • Their demographics including age, gender and more
  • Where does their interest lie for e.g. shopping, gadgets and more
  • Lastly their behavior including shopper profiles and offline interests

The ads will be more relevant to the audiences since they reach people based on who they are and their interests. Facebook also said it will continue the Getting Started series in the coming weeks with more information on how Facebook Pages and ads work. Facebook is also offering hands-on training to SMBs through the Facebook Fit program. This boot-camp style program offers attendees information, tools and resources to help their businesses grow stronger. With two camps successfully completed, the remaining three are scheduled to be held on July 10 in Chicago, July 24 in Austin, Texas and August 5 in Menlo Park, California.

    Hey there, Ritu!

I think this is simply great.

You can choose the audience of similar traits. This is great because your ads would not be wondering on profile pages that might not be interested in your ads. I think this means less money wasted and boost more conversion. 🙂

Well, will have to see what happens in the next few months with this feature.

    Thanks for sharing, Ritu.
