Just about a week ago, Facebook made a few changes in the Power Editor Interface and into the hands of marketers. The changes included a new bulk import option for ad targeting types and a better preview pane for News Feeds ads. Facebook quietly rolled out these changes on 4th September, but is scaling the capability globally in the next few weeks.

The improved view in power editor will help marketers create dark posts for ad use only. The new ad types that will update objectives including Power Editor are Clicks To Website, Page Post Engagement, Website Conversions, Mobile App Engagement, Mobile App Installs, Desktop App Engagement, Desktop App Installs, Video Views, Offer Claims and Event Responses.

The new functionality will allow advertisers to preview the ads during the creation process right within Power Editor, bulk import News Feed ads and edit them. Previously, these ads could not be edited as they were linked to a specific page post. After the changes, these posts can be edited, imported and exported.

If a page is created first then promoted, it can not still be edited.

Facebook notes that this is a shift in the fundamental ways that News Feed ads are made. This is an evolution in Facebook advertising which gives the marketer or admin more control over the ad before it gets posted.
