After changing the Subscribe button to Follow and implementing Verified pages & Profiles, Facebook has yet again decided to go Twitter way. This time, it's the much popular Hashtag/Search feature to discover more content on the social networking platform.

Twitter has already made #Hashtags popular amongst social media audience, which is using the # in regular status updates. Facebook said,

"Starting today, hashtags will be clickable on Facebook. Similar to other services like Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, or Pinterest, hashtags on Facebook allow you to add context to a post or indicate that it is part of a larger discussion. When you click on a hashtag in Facebook, you’ll see a feed of what other people and Pages are saying about that event or topic".

Users can now:

     #  Search for specific hashtag from the search bar

     #  Click on the hashtag originating on other services like Instagram

     #  Compose post from hashtag feed and search result

Hashtags are a way of easily finding what others have to say on a specific topic and participate in public conversation. Facebook will roll out the feature in coming weeks and months. It will also be coming up with trending hashtags and deeper insights.
