After announcing that Timeline feature will be made mandatory for all of its 800+ million users, Facebook is now ready to take the next logical step or so it seems. Reports that Facebook will soon be making Timeline feature a compulsion for brand pages are doing rounds.
It is being said that Facebook will roll out the changes starting from February 29th. These changes are believed to go live on smaller business brand pages before moving onto bigger firms. Interestingly, the same date is also hand picked by Facebook for the first-ever Facebook marketing conference to be held in New York. This only adds fuel to the chances of this speculation ending up true.
A Facebook spokesperson said, "…we believe that consistency in both functionality and appearance increase use of Facebook. We hope to make Pages more consistent with the Timeline in the future, but we have nothing further to share at this time".
It remains to be seen, whether Facebook officially announces Timeline feature for brand pages during the New York event or not. Irrespective of what happens on February 29th, it's only a matter of time before this change goes live.Facebook Timeline Could Debut For Brand Pages Very Soon!,
