Facebook, through one of its blog posts, today announced that it has come up with a number of updates to pages whereby business owners will be able to engage themselves in a better way with their audience on mobile devices.

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg promises that the social network functions as a perfect platform for small businesses to establish a mobile-web existence. The company says that more than 655 million people have access to Facebook exclusively through a mobile device. More than 1 billion people, across all devices, make a visit to pages each month.

However, with the announcement of today’s updates, business owners will be able to get more opportunities. The page owners can now begin to make use of call-to-action (CTA) buttons on mobile. The CTA buttons have been re-crafted for mobile, alongside more significant placement within a business’s Facebook page.

In order to ensure that Facebook Pages are the perfect web platform for businesses, there are additions of new customization options, which will help pages make feel more as websites.

Now Page owners are able to make addition of new sections, like Shop and Services, that allow businesses to do their promotion on Facebook. With the help of new Shop section, businesses can make direct selling of products from their Page through the Buy button that saw its release at the very start of this year.

The new Shop and Services sections, for now, are exclusively available for pages that come under the “Local Business or Place” category. Businesses can also make use of these sections in other categories, so the feature is expected to be released more widely in the long run.

The company, apart from these updates, also claims that the layout of Facebook pages is under redesigning process. The new design, apparently, would centre around tabbed navigation in order that people can make easy shift between a variety of sections.

Just as Facebook is getting all-in on mobile, more of these types of updates are expected to be made in the forthcoming weeks.
