Google announced that there has been an increase of 4.7% in the proportion of sites that are mobile friendly since the they announced about the Mobile Friendly Update.

Google also said they hope that, now that this algorithm is rolling out, that more sites will go mobile friendly in the near future.

The number could have been more than 4.7%, but then probably Google’s index of web pages is pretty large and there are likely a huge number of web pages that are not being indexed but are currently still resolving. If Google decides to share how many sites go mobile friendly within the next two months, this would be an interesting thing. Over the past week, there has been a lot more news about this in more of the mainstream press than on industry news sites.
