Search has become easier on Pinterest now! The social media site has more streamlined search suggestions to find the pins and users the searcher is looking for.

When one starts typing in Pinterest’s search box, the system will populate the box with most closely related suggestions. Top pinners will be indicated with a checkmark. This resembles popular social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. This is quite different from the time when search results would be stuffed with filter settings for pins, users, and boards.

Search filters can now be found through the new filter button that becomes visible once you tap or click into your results. The new filter option enables you to switch between seeing boards, users, other people’s pins, or even your own pins.

Pinterest search has also become smarter when it comes to spelling mistakes by the searchers. Data indicates that about 12% of all searches on Pinterest include a spelling error, leading to some unexpected results. However, now, if you type something that doesn’t sound right, the system will display results what it thinks you are looking for, enabling you to see better results.

If you want to find what is trending on Pinterest, all you need to do is tap on the search bar. This resembles Apple’s iTunes and App Store where users can see top trending searches by clicking on the search tab. However, the trends are currently limited to the data in the US.

People and brands on Pinterest can expect to see a boost in the number of their followers, post the new functionality.
