Google has acquired AdMob, the popular mobile display ad technology provider for $750 million in stock. The acquisition is definitely going to enhance Google's hold over mobile advertising and advertisers as well as publishers will now get more options in this particular area.

The ad stats provided on Google reports say that Android and iPhone users are the ones who browse the Internet more than anybody else and have contributed to Google's 5x mobile search growth in the past two years. Moreover, these users spend around 90 minutes every day using AdMob application on their devices.

As Google is developing more effective tools for making, serving and analyzing the emerging mobile ads formats, the deal will be of great help to it. The new marketing media has benefits like:

  • Advertisers will be able to increase their reach amongst mobile users with the AdMob's ad formats.
  • Users will be able to see more relevant ads and get better access to ad-supported content & applications.
  • The developers and publishers can monetize their content more effectively via AdMob's ad formats.
