In the face of all the noise and discussions flooding the search community about Google updating its algorithms, Google has confirmed that there is nothing going on. The chatter was so loud that people were gearing up for an update very much similar to that of the Penguin or Panda update.
On May 2 several SEO forums were buzzing with discussions on Google updating its algorithms and rankings. The rumors intensified further on May 7 with the reversal of those changes. This signaled that a major Google update was on its way. We also experienced similar flux in rankings for most of our clients. All these seemed like warning bells on a major Google update about to happen in the future. There were speculations regarding Google experimenting something, rolling it out widely and then drawing it back.
However, Google has clearly denied any such update. Google refused to comment any more than stating that they are not working on anything and there is nothing going on around this.
