You can now have you company's logo appear in Google search results in the same way how authors display their pictures. The schema.org "Organization markup" feature announced by Google can be used to have your preferred logo displayed in results.

Businesses can add the markup by using the visible on-page elements on the homepage of their website www.example.com following way:

<div itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Organization">

  <a itemprop="url" href="http://www.example.com/">Home</a>

  <img itemprop="logo" src="http://www.example.com/logo.png" />

</div>

It will give an indication to Google that the image is the designated logo image for the homepage, it is also included in the markup and can be used in Google search results, wherever possible.

Google said that a Markup like this gives a strong signal to algorithms to show the image in preference over the other images.
