Google announced about closing the Freebase API and launching the Knowledge Graph Search API.

The API will let you query the Knowledge Graph for information on various entities. The API uses standard schema.org types and complies with JSON-LD specifications. Google will replace the Freebase Suggest Widget and the replacement will be released early in 2016.

Freebase API and Widget will be supported for 3 months after the release of the replacement. Stay updated on future improvements follow https://plus.google.com/+GoogleDevelopers.
