Living up to its reputation for always being in the look out for self-improvement, search engine giant Google has upgraded its Places, Maps, Music and Blogger applications. The enhancement of these applications have made naturally furthered heightened their utility level, thus offering more as satisfaction and comfort fore their users.
Google Places Applications
The new look Google Places applications offers some key facilities for iPhone users. They basically entail making your searching more precise and specific, in terms of distance, user rating, price, etc.
For example, you can now locate restaurants or food joints within 2 kms of your office where you can have lunch during the lunch break. You can then identify the most appropriate one in terms of your budget and timing. Last but not the least, you can also use reviews by Google users to identify the 'best of the lot'.
Google Maps Applications
Google Maps Navigation (Beta) lets you have access to more than 12 billion miles of GPS-aided directions (both driving and walking), every year. Now you will enjoy the facility of GPS turn-by-turn navigation in more than 400 (yes, you have reads it correctly) cities across the world. You just have to select the driving or walking icon. If your route is affiliated to Google Maps Navigation, then the Navigation icon will keep spontaneously appearing thus exposing you to step-by-step directions. But please keep in this mind that as of now this facility is only for driving and walking, and not for public transit.
On every occasion of getting off or making a transfer, Transit Navigation will use GPS to identify your current location in the context of your route and alerts. This will come in handy if you are passing through a city/two/village, etc. where you do not share any common language with the locals, and therefore can not communicate with them and get the necessary directions (and can not even read the route maps or road signs, as they are also written in the same language that you are not conversant with). By the way, if you open another application after starting your journey with Transit Navigation, or just keep your phone away, Google Maps will keep doing its 'duty' by alerting you when your stop is coming up. It will do it either by displaying an alert in your notification bar, or by putting your phone into vibration.
Google Music Applications
Google has launched Music Beta, wherein you can now upload your personal music collections to the cloud, only to stream to your computer and Android devices. This new service will make your music and playlists remain in sync spontaneously, which means that even when you add a new playlist on your phone, it will be readily available on your tablet (or other device that you are using).
Now the Google Blog application helps you to make new posting through iOS devices. You have the liberty to do anything with your iOS device, from making a blog posting and publishing it to saving a draft or editing a draft or a published post.
