Google is moving firmly ahead with its aim of integrating and centralizing all Google activities. The latest step taken by the search engine is broadening the field trial of Gmail’s integration with Search results. Google has announced that they are widening the field trial and now Google Drive documents will also find place in the search results.

As Google said, “You can sign up for a new and expanded field trial that makes it easier to find your stuff across Google, whether you’re searching on Google.com or searching in Gmail. In Gmail, as you begin to type into the search box, you'll instantly start seeing relevant emails from Gmail as well as results from Google Drive, Google Calendar, and more:”

So now, users can search not only in Google but also in Gmail and will see a prompt from Google Drive on the right hand column of the search results. This is how the results will look.

This widening of the trial has been after Google received positive feedback from the trial they launched in August this year.
