Last December Google announced the launch of +Post ads to a restricted number of advertisers, allowing them to turn their Google+ posts into ads and distribute them on the Google Display Network. This Wednesday, Google confirmed in AdWords blog post that the +Post ads will now be available to all the Google+ pages with a minimum of 1000 followers.
Viewers can get a full screen view of the content by clicking on the “Click to Expand” button. However, there are certain conditions which you need to fulfill for setting up a +Post ad for your Google+ page:
- Your Google+ page must have at least 1,000 followers.
- Your post should contain content that is relevant to your audience.
- You have opted in to shared endorsements for Google+ pages.
According to the blog post Google is also introducing two new features- promoted hangouts on air and automatic post promotion. In Google's words, “these will help users create compelling ad experiences and make it easier to extend the reach of their social content.”
Promoting Hangouts on Air:
Users can now promote their Hangout on Air with +Post ads. By doing so they can RSVP before Hangout, watch live broadcast and view a recording after the event.
Automatically promote your most recent post:
Advertisers can now automatically promote their latest Google+ post and pay only when people engage with their content.
Google said that the brands who took the beta test responded positively. For eg, Toyota USA used the +Posts ads for the launch of the 2014 Corolla and reported a 50% higher engagement rate. According to Google the ads are also helpful in promoting brands' engagement efforts on Google+. It reported that a +Post ad run by UK based online fashion and beauty website ASOS, during a Hangout on Air was watched by 71% of the live viewers from the ad unit.Google Expands the +Post Ads to All Brands with 1000+ Followers, Supports Hangouts on Air!,
