Starting today, Google will be rolling out a visual refresh to the Google+ cover photos on desktop. The minor change will bring a fresh & refined look to your Google+ profile.

While the size of the cover photo got bigger with earlier updates by the team, the latest roll-out will reduce the size while retaining the 16:9 ratio.

The name, work, and location information that was found spread across the bottom of the cover photo will not appear to the left. It will resemble to the Google+ hovercard that is seen on hovering the cursor on profile or page. The background where profile/page information lies now appears blurred but good.

Profile tabs have also been moved from top to below the cover photo. The map that gets displayed while hovering the cursor over the location of the person also appears sharper and cleaner.
