The cloak of secrecy is slowly falling off Google Glass. They have now released Google Glass Official Promo that demonstrates UI in real world situations. The video provides glimpses of head-mounted, augmented realty Glass experience.
The Glass is now through the project phase and Google is ready to hand out the units to anyone who applies and pays the $1,500 price. The rider – you should be residing in the US. You’ll also need to pick up a session in New York, Los Angeles or San Francisco.
Take to Google+ or Twitter, using the hashtag #ifihadglass to explain how you would use Google Glass. Plea can be tagged with up to five photos and a 15 second video. The deadline is February 27 and competition for Glass units is fierce.
The UI shows users interacting with Glass through a single pane in the top right. All activity – right from Google searches to hangouts – happens in this one space. The tone of video is radically subdued compared to the concept video released earlier.
Google has launched a Glass website as well to kick off the contest. The first link is a video compiled from several Glass wearers. The second link reveals what Glass does and how it works – voice recognition, pre-set voice commands, hands-free video recording, photo/video capture, directions, built-in search, etc. The third link explains how to apply for Google Glass.
Glass is a part of futuristic vision of Google that includes Google robots and smartwatches. It runs on Android operating system. Google hopes that the Glass will take the world of technology by storm. Some are even predicting the Glass ending the smartphones era, but that is something only time will tell.Google Glass Official Promo Released!,
