WebmasterWorld is giving early reports of a Google Image Search update of January 2009! According to these reports, Google has added new images to the image index and now these images are visible in the result pages.

“Its that time again, new Images are added to the index, about the filter I can not say if they have loosen up the "moderate filter" so more normal images are show like before last update, maybe we will see something in 1-2 days, but now there is added new images.” –zeus

That last Google Image Search update was in October and it was zeus only, who noticed the changes in the previous update.
