Google Introduces Google Authorship within Image Search!Pierre Far of Google announced at SMX East an update to authorship that would add rich snippets to Google Image Search. To check it, visit Google Images and search for the people having an authorship. When you click on an image, it may show a byline with an authorship link if it has markup on the article.

Google began supporting authorship markup way back in 2011 to allow authors to verify content they have created and become authorities on specific topics. If the searcher knows about the people who have actually created content, it may improve the search quality.
