If you haven’t noticed the new Google +1 button, you may not be the only one. Google hasn’t been vocal about the new buttons, unlike the Facebook’s new ‘Like’ button announcement. The change is mainly in coloring.

Google Introduces New +1 and Share Buttons!

The new +1 and Share buttons are now white, while they used to be light gray. The buttons are consistent with the Follow and Badge widgets.

Paul Lindner, a Google employee, posted about the new-look buttons in the Developing with Google+ community on Google+. He revealed that all the buttons were now using SVG to present the iconography and the Roboto font for text.  Some SMIL animations are there as well. These work perfectly on the new high dpi smartphone, laptop and tablet.

Anyone using the +1 and/or Share buttons on the site need not make any changes as the new buttons would automatically replace the old ones.
