More than one billion people use Google Maps every month and most of them search for local businesses such as doctors, restaurants, and more on the Maps. Google recently launched Google Maps app with several new features for iPad, iPhone, and Android. It has now introduced an updated ad experience that is believed to be more effective for advertisers and attractive for users.
From now, relevant ads on Google Maps app will appear at the bottom of the screen after a search is performed by the user. The ads will include text, title, and link to get the directions. Users can swipe upward or tap on the link to get more information. The new click type is named as "Get location details" with standard CPC charge.
After clicking on the ad for location details, users will also see additional information such as photos, reviews, address, and phone numbers of the business. There will be both; free and paid click actions. While the free actions include sharing a business with friend, navigation, and saving business information, paid actions include get directions, get location details, click to call etc.
The aggregated reporting for free clicks will be available in the account of the user. In case of paid actions, AdWords will charge only for up to two paid clicks per ad impression.
Starting with Ads on Google Maps app
Advertisers need to add location extensions to search campaigns or create an ad with AdWords Express, to show up in Google Maps app. In case the campaign is not showing ads on mobile devices or Google search partners, advertisers might have to change settings.
More information about free clicks, ad pricing, and ad eligibility is available in AdWords Help Center. The Google Maps app is available in App Store and Google Play for free.Google Introduces Updated Ad Experience for Google Maps App to Attract Customers with Local Ads!,
