Google has launched a new educational resource program titled – Webmaster Academy. This program has a set of educational materials to teach beginner webmasters about the workings of Google search and also guide them towards bettering their web sites.

As per Google, this is what the Academy does, “Webmaster Academy provides practical and easy-to-understand lessons for beginner webmasters to help you improve your site with topics like getting your site in our index, providing search engines with helpful information about your video and image content, and understanding Webmaster Tools features.”

The Academy is expected to be highly useful for businesses coming online for the first time. They can learn how Google search functions and what factors affect ranking, and also gain insights on Search Engine Optimization. The initial articles have further links to advanced and in-depth articles on every topic. What do you think of this new move by Google? Do share your views.
