The Android-only predictive search tool Google Now is now available for iPad and iPhone. It is a part of an updated Google Search App in iOS. Till date, Google Now was exclusively available on Android devices running on Jelly Bean or higher OS versions.
The Google Now for iPhone and iPad is identical to the Android version. Here are the screenshots.
Google Now will provide same content and functionality in the iOS version, which it has been offering to Android users. However, the entire range of Cards will not be immediately available on iOS.
The Google Now cards provide information on movie showtime, weather, traffic, currency conversion, and more. The list of categories and data sources is growing in cards.
Google Now is a reflection of how the future of search will slowly and gradually change and will be different from its past. Google Now is a combination of search/web history, data, and context. It gives a lot of personalized information to users even if they haven't asked for it. The feature pushes information to people on the basis of their location and activities. It has more holistic understanding of the needs of users and delivers data in an informative & coherent way.
Besides the advantages of Google Now, the bigger question is if iPhone and iPad users will actually use the feature.
It won't be any wrong to say that Google Now transforms the basic mobile search experience into a more evolved, richer, and dynamic app-based experience.Google Now Comes to iPad & iPhone!,
