According to Google Blogoscoped, Google is all set to launch the all new translation service known as Google Translation Center. Although website is available on the web, but as of now, the login for the website isn't being accepted. However, as per the post Google Translation Center will avail the service of volunteers and professional translators.

As per the information on the service's front-page:

Request translations and find translators

Upload your document and request translations into over 40 languages. Translate and review

Translated documents

Create and review content in your language through Google's free, easy-to-use, online translation tools.

Here are some of screen shots along with details, as to how Google Translation Center will look and work:

The project creation page is designed to provide the user with information such as project name, description, due date and owners. A user can upload a file, then select a translator and request the translation of the same. According to Google, “If a translator accepts, you should receive your translated content back as soon as it’s ready.”

For those users who would be using this service in the capacity of a translator, they would be assigned a 'translator inbox', that would display the number of assignments and the completion status of each and every one of them. According to Google, “Passionate about bringing content into your language? Browse through Google Translation Center to find open translation requests into your language. Accept translation requests and use Google translation tools to provide quick, high-quality translations.” This what the translator inbox would look like:

For those of you who would be using this service and assigning yourselves as translators, your work area in the Google Translation Center is known as the 'translator workbench'. In here, you can see the translation and the source text running parallel to each other. You also have the option of using the Auto-Save, along with a couple of translation related help tools namely, revision history, glossary and a log of previous translations,if any.
