The trend of communication via mobile devices is increasing, as more and more people now prefer to shop, stay entertained, and connected through their cellphones and tablets. The information such as their location, device, and time of the day is becoming an important signal for advertisers.

Google is making constant efforts to help marketers reach a large number of people on their mobile. In February, it launched enhanced campaigns to make AdWords smartphone friendly. And now Google has announced that ad group level mobile bids will soon be coming as an add-on to enhanced campaigns.

The addition will be useful for advertisers who have been operating large scale campaigns and think that optimal bids for some of the keywords would need different mobile bid adjustments within enhanced campaigns.

Currently, advertisers can set mobile bids only at campaign level in enhanced campaigns. Google will be making the new functionality available to advertisers in mid-May.
