Google has launched improved URL removal tool to help users update the search results quickly. As we know that the content on the Internet gets modified or removed, the tool will make it easier for site owners to request updates on the basis of the changes of the third-party web content.

Google Launches Tool for Easy Removal of URL on Third-Party Sites!

Describing the functionality of the tool, John Mueller, Webmaster Trends Analyst in Google said, "This tool is useful for removals on other peoples’ websites. You could use this tool if a page has been removed completely, or if it was just changed and you need to have the snippet & cached page removed".

To remove a whole page, it is required to have proper HTTP result code (403, 404 OR 410), robots.txt file, or noindex robots meta tag that is blocking the page. When you will enter the URL in the URL removal tool, Google will analyze to see if the URL is gone. When Google detects the page is no longer there, it will initiate the removal request.

In case the page is still live and you want to remove the content that is appearing in the snippets and is no longer on the actual page, the same tool can be used. All you have to do is, go to the tool and enter the word that is no longer appearing on the live page, Google will take it from there.

Using the Webmaster Tools URL removal feature is easier for the actual owners of the site.
